In the late summer of 2004, G.E.M. Associates completed a project on behalf of Taunton Deane Borough Council to review its current housing staffing structure (including the DLO Management) and present options for change which would allow the organisation to address exisiting problems (particularly with regard to estate management and maintenance ) and to provide a workable framework regardless of the outcome of the ongoing options appraisal for the future of the Council's stock.

The project identified some opportunities to make savings and for the transfer of staff between a number of Departments to create a more cohesive housing service. The final report was delivered in late summer and the proposed new structures were accepted by the Council in December.

The Council is currently implementing the new structures following their formal consultation and review processes.

G.E.M. Associates was pleased to be able to assist the Council in this major undertaking and looks forward to future opportunities to work with the Housing staff to initiate service improvements.
